What we store on your device

Cookie Policy

Almost nothing, honestly. One preference you set yourself, a couple of values that keep our forms honest, and no trackers following you anywhere.

Last updated August 15, 2026

1. The short version

This Site uses almost no cookies. There is no advertising, no analytics suite, no social pixels, and no cross-site tracking. We don't build a profile of you or follow you to other sites.

What we do store is a small preference on your own device so the Site remembers how you like it to look, plus short-lived technical values needed to keep our forms working and secure.

2. What cookies and local storage are

A cookie is a small text file a site asks your browser to store and send back on later visits. Local storage is a similar mechanism that keeps a value on your device without sending it with every request. Both are used here only for the purposes described below.

3. What this Site stores

  • Theme preference (curaosity-theme) — a cookie and a matching local storage value that record whether you chose light or dark mode, so the correct colors render immediately on your next visit without a flash. Stored for up to one year. Strictly necessary for the preference you set; it contains no identifier and is never used to track you.
  • Form integrity values — short-lived, in-memory or per-session values used by our contact and speaking inquiry forms to verify a human is submitting and to prevent spam and duplicate submissions. These are not used for tracking and are discarded once the form is submitted.
  • Infrastructure and security — our hosting provider may set essential cookies or process request data to route traffic, keep the Site available, and defend against abuse.

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, marketing tags, session recording, heatmapping, or third-party analytics cookies on this Site. Because everything we store is strictly necessary or set by your own explicit choice, we don't show a consent banner.

4. Third-party requests

The Site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. That request tells Google's servers your IP address and browser details; it does not set an advertising cookie on this Site. Fonts are the only third-party resource loaded on page view.

When you follow a link to a concept's own website, a booking page, or a social profile, that destination sets its own cookies under its own policy. Check that site's cookie notice for details.

5. Your choices

  • Use the light/dark toggle in the header at any time to change the stored theme preference.
  • Clear cookies and site data for curaosity.com in your browser settings to remove the theme preference; the Site will simply return to its default light appearance.
  • Block or restrict cookies in your browser. The Site will still work — it just won't remember your theme choice, and forms may need a reload.
  • Turn on your browser's Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals. Since we don't track you across sites or sell personal information, there's nothing for us to change in response.

6. Changes to this policy

If we ever add analytics or another non-essential technology, we'll update this page first — and we'll add a consent mechanism where the law requires one. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
